Dogs with humans

The most common and well-known form of interspecies takes place between humans and dogs. These two species can interact with each other with the use of non-verbal communications that both can easily understands. Most of us even has a dog residing on our homes and is already part of a family and not just a normal pet. This is due to their ability to be trained, played with, and can understand human behavior. Well, we do have a significant role why all of these took place. With human's unique capability to do all things, we managed to keep dogs be part of our lives despite of them having a wolf ancestry.

Dogs can be seen on any parts of the world. It is nearly impossible if you won't see even a single dog for a week (unless you stays inside the house without getting out). Today, we hire and train dogs to work with us. The commonly known to us are:

  • Herding dogs which serve as a livestock guardian that guards a sheep and any other species (these includes us) from predators.
  • Sled dogs which work as a team to transport people and goods (snowy terrain).
  • Hunting dogs which help hunters to retrieve, fight and hunt, usually bear or other feral animal.
  • Guard or watch dogs serve to protect private and public places. These are also use in police and military.
  • Rescue dogs are use to search a missing person, usually in uninhabited areas like the wilderness.
  • Police or Military dogs or K9's which are use for tracking criminals and evidences on crimes, tracing things used by terrorist (specially on luggages) and fighting along side officers.

The life of dogs is really close to humans than any other animals out there. They can also do household chores like handing your slippers once you pull out your shoes off your feet, putting dried clothes on your personal hamper, looking out for your kids whenever you are busy doing something and they can even lie down at your feet while you are relaxing and watching movies. Dogs are natural athletes and can also be part on any of your recreational activities. They love playing with balls and specially with disc (Frisbee). Try to throw the disc on the air and they will surely run and catch it.

Dogs on their unforgettable deeds

I think every knows Balto. He was Siberian Husky, the leader of the sled dog team drove by a Norwegian Gunnar Kaasen to transported a serum called "diphtheria antitoxin" from Achorage, Alaska and then to Nenava, Alaska and then to Nome to fight the epidemic that spread on Nome in 1925. Balto managed to keep them on track in a dangerous and almost whiteout condition.

Hachiko, a Japanese Akita who was faithfully waited for his Master Ueno to return on a train station in Shibuya, Tokyo where he always greets him. He kept on waiting even after Ueno's death. The town's people near the train station who frequently saw both the dog and it's master were amazed and gave food to the dog regularly. He precisely waited for 10 long years until his death in 1935.

This is Buddy, a new found hero in Alaska who led a police trooper to his master's burning home. The police trooper was looking for the way to the house through the twisted snowy road. Then, his GPS froze on him. While the trooper was driving on the road, he saw a dog, seems to be untrained but looking for help. As the dog ran, he kept on looking back to the trooper to assure that he is being followed until they both came to the burning home.
